Area athletes earn NJCAA honors

HERKIMER — A total of 47 Herkimer College student-athletes earned NJCAA Academic All-Region honors for 2018-19. To qualify for this award, students must have completed at least 24 credit hours during the academic year with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Herkimer College had the largest number of student-athletes receive this honor from all the NJCAA athletic programs in Region III.

Several area athletes were among those earning honors for Herkimer.

Fort Plain’s Maecee Lathers (women’s soccer), Fonda-Fultonville’s Kelsey  Denton (softball), Fort Plain’s Amber Douglas (women’s soccer), Fort Plain’s Nathaniel Florian (men’s track and field), Gloversville’s Anthony Ponticello (baseball), Amsterdam’s Ashlin Glionna (volleyball) and Dolgeville’s Jacob Darling (men’s golf).
