Rochester man arrested in his younger brother’s fatal shooting

ROCHESTER (AP) — A Rochester man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of his younger brother earlier in the week, police said.

Robert Reen Jr., 31, was arrested Saturday in the death two days earlier of Jordan Reen, 21, the Democrat and Chronicle reported.

Officers responding to a report of shots fired on Thursday found Jordan Reen in the street with a gunshot wound to his upper body, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman who had locked herself inside a closet inside the family home told police that she feared Robert Reen Jr. had shot his brother and then barricaded himself in the home, authorities said.

Hostage negotiators were called, but Reen was not found inside the home, police said.

Reen turned himself in to police on Saturday and is expected to be arraigned today on a second-degree murder charge. It wasn’t clear if he had an attorney who could comment.
