Flash Flood Warning for Johnstown, Perth, much of Montgomery County until 4:30 p.m. Wednesday

ALBANY – The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for most of Montgomery County into southern Fulton County, including Johnstown and Perth.

The service issued the warning after a line of strong storms passed over the county. The warning is to continue until 4:30 p.m. It initially included much of the western part of Montgomery County, including Fort Plain, Canajoharie and Fonda and Johnstown in Fulton County. A second area then included Amsterdam, Perth and Galway and Charleston in Saratoga County.

ALBANY – The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the entirety of the Capital Region through Wednesday evening.

The watch covers all of Fulton County and surrounding areas and is to run until 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Scattered hail of up to ping pong ball size is possible, along with possible scattered gusts of up to 70 mph and frequent lightning, the service said.

The larger watch area runs from central Pennsylvania through New York State and into much of Vermont.
