Northville girls’ soccer wins — High schools

Northville defeated Canajoharie/Fort Plain 4-1 in Western Athletic Conference girls’ soccer on Wednesday behind a pair of goals from Leah Valovic and Sophia Edwards. Valovic also had an assist, while Gretchen Forsey and Hailey Monroe each added an assist for Northville. Marissa Wilder scored for Canajoharie/Fort Plain.

Ava VanNostrand scored three goals to lead Mayfield to a 4-2 win over Fonda-Fultonville. Abby Chest added a goal and two assists. Maya Rohling made nine saves in the win. Kamiashla Myles and Mackenzie Dowgielewicz scored for Fonda-Fultonville.

In Section 7 Mountain Valley League action, Wells shutout Johnsburg/Minerva 4-0. Ava Dwyer scored twice, with Lilianna Wright and Macy Orr each adding a goal and an assist. Johnsburg/Minerva’s Lucia Williams made 15 saves

In boys’ soccer, OESJ and Northville tied 1-1 in the Western Athletic Conference. Baler Stowell scored for OESJ, and Braydn Bovee scored for Northville. Collin Eakin made 12 saves for OESJ, while Northville’s Logan Armstrong made seven.

In a back-and-forth game, Mayfield’s Neil Wicklund scored on a Ben Wicklund assist late for the go-ahead goal to give the Panthers a 4-3 victory over Canajoharie/Fort Plain. Mayfield scored the first three goals, via Haiden Laird, Brody Page and Neil Wicklund. Canajoharie responded with two scores from Noah Colburn and one from Sam Sutherland. Neil Wicklund scored his last goal one minute after Canajoharie/Fort Plain had tied it. Sean Foreman made five saves for Mayfield, while Gavin Colburn had seven for C/FP.
