GLOVERSVILLE — A third person has been charged in connection to a pair of explosions that rocked the city of Gloversville earlier this week, police announced on Saturday.

Emory L. Ostrander, a 54-year-old Gloversville resident, has been charged with first-degree arson and second-degree conspiracy, both felonies, in relation to the April 17 explosions that occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Helwig Street, according to city police.

Ostrander was arrested shortly before 7 p.m. Friday by members of the Gloversville police patrol and detective divisions, and was ordered held at the Fulton County Correctional Facility without bail following an arraignment in Gloversville City Court, according to a police news release.

It is the third arrest authorities have made in as many days in connection to the early morning explosions that jolted neighbors along Helwig Street, between Fifth and Sixth avenues. Police have said previously they found evidence of “improvised explosive devices” at two separate scenes.

Politsch of Gloversville who has been charged with two counts of first-degree arson and second-degree conspiracy, according to police.
